Last night was one of the best Refuel services ever. Five people went public with their faith and got baptized - worship was awesome (as usual) - we observed communion - the highlight was by far, the guest speaker. Godfrey (I will not attempt the last name) and his wife Joy, the directors of Arise Africa were our guest. This is who our team worked with in Uganda recently and Smooth has known them for many years. The work that is going on in Uganda is powerful and the needs are great. As Godfrey shared his heart for Africa, God stirred mine. They are in plans to build an orphanage in Uganda and needed $15,000 more to complete phase I. At the end of the service, I committed Journey Church to give this 15k by the end of November. When phase I is complete, they will be able to house 50 orphans. What a privilege to be partner with them in this mission. Lord willing, we will be sending another team to Africa in 2009 and hopefully they will be able to see first hand, the fruit of your sacrifice. We will be giving instructions this weekend of how you can be involved in this effort. Praise the Lord for a great night.
